Mandatory requirements:
- Drivers' license: it is a mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position to hold an unrestricted “C” Class driver's licence. Officers are required to drive government vehicles as a part of their day-to-day work.
- This role is designated as Regulated employment as the position provides support services to children and young people, and therefore will require a valid Blue Card to be linked with the organisation prior to starting. - Additional pre-employment screening for this role includes serious disciplinary history disclosure, reference and qualifications check and eligibility to work in Australia.
- While the position is based Townsville, travel within the region for site visits and to other regional/departmental offices will be required in this role. This may include overnight stays. The region has offices in Townsville, Mackay and Mt Isa.
As the Administration Officer you will specifically provide general support to offices within the region for:
- High-quality support to Youth Justice in relation to financial, human, and physical resources and activities.
- Administrative coordination and support in relation to Youth Justice activities, including record keeping, planning forums, program development, management activities and quality reports and correspondence.
- Employee housing for assets, facilities leasing arrangements, property registers, advice on maintenance requirements.
- Maintain effective administrative systems in Youth Justice, including systems relating to asset management, financial, human resource, performance reporting and business processes.
- Liaise with internal and external clients and stakeholders in relation to inquiries relevant to Youth Justice.
- Allocate, prioritise, and perform tasks in accordance with departmental procedures and financial and administrative delegations.
- Participate productively and collaboratively as a member of a team in delivering support and services to clients.
- Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
