Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for undertaking all production accounting activities, including preparation, review and analysis of financial statements and compliance requirements and deliver associated quality, professional accounting outcomes. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of tax and Australian Accounting standards and procedures and will be an asset to the accounting team.

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accountancy or equivalent.

Required language(s): English and Persian

At least 3+ years Australian Accounting experience is required.

Technical Requirements

The successful applicant needs a high level of technical knowledge and an ability to apply it to finalise Jobs for clients.

The CPA or CA qualification is desirable but not a necessity.

Preparing Financial Statements for: Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, SMSFs and Sole Traders

Use of the following software: Xero Accounting (95% of Clients are on Xero), Xero Practice Manager and Microsoft Products

Have experience with business visa holders clients

The position requires you to report to the Senior Client Manager

Your major role is to process and complete annual compliance for the clients.

You will work with your Senior Manager, helping train you in technical knowledge and reviewing your work.

Leading fieldwork, managing performance, coaching, and mentoring more junior team members and keeping engagement leaders updated on accounting engagements.

Effectively managing accounting and tax processes with appropriate consideration of risk issues and accounting technical matters, including revenue, financial instruments, and income taxes

Engaging clients and providing advice and professionalism throughout transactions, including identification of areas for improvement in clients’ business processes

Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and processes and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues.

Understanding our clients’ unique ambitions and needs and referring them to colleagues in other teams and areas to broaden our business relationships where possible.

Expertise in accounting frameworks (IFRS) and in related financial reporting matters

Performing reviews and analysing financial information

Preparation of financial statements, client services plan documents and cash flow statements

Managing your own direct relationships with clients

Mentoring junior team members
