We are after an experienced, switched on mechanic who is keen to learn the service management side of a small mechanic business. As a mechanic we required at least 3 years experience post apprenticeship. We specialize in European vehicles. This is our everyday bread and butter, so experience with European car servicing and repairs and a knowledgebase of common faults and things to look out for is essential.

The position will be as the senior mechanic responsible for mechanical tasks, anything from servicing to timing belts, water pumps, engine repairs and diagnostics. We are a fully equipped workshop with multiple scan tools including 2 manufacturer scan tools and use quality parts to follow manufacturer recommendations. We are licensed to perform Air Conditioning repairs and Roadworthy inspections and would be keen for this role to perform these task. If you are not already licensed for these already we would discuss planning to get this done. If you are licensed already for AC and VicRoads Roadworthy this would be valuable to us. The position would also involve supervising and training Apprentices. We currently have a very talented 3rd year apprentice. We are keen to start a first year by the end of the year.

The goal of the assistant manager side of this position is to be able to run the workshop while the owners are away. So training in this part of the position will include customer service, making estimates, sales training and understanding productivity and profitability.
