About the Role:
The overall purpose of the Recovery Support Worker - Accommodation is to provide support and practical assistance to women in HSWF accommodation and assist their capacity with practical living skills, encourage resilience, assist to implement strategies that enhance personal wellbeing and assess safety for onsite accommodation.

This a Permanent, Part-Time opportunity - operating on a 4 week rotating roster (subject to change with given notice). Please see below roster details:

  • Monday: 5:00 PM - 9:00 AM (next day) (Sleepover shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Tuesday: 5:00 PM - 9:00 AM (next day)
  • Wednesday: 5:00 PM - 9:00 AM (next day)
  • Saturday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Sunday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Saturday: 5:00 PM - 9:00 AM (next day)
  • Sunday: 5:00 PM - 9:00 AM (next day)
  • Thursday: 5:00 PM - 9:00 AM (next day)
  • Friday: 5:00 PM - 9:00 AM (next day)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised and responsive support to clients based on their individual needs, using trauma-informed and recovery orientated approach.
  • Facilitate and support group activities or workshops aimed at building life skills, interpersonal relationships, coping strategies and overall wellbeing.
  • Assist clients with practical daily living tasks such as meal planning, grocery shopping, and developing cooking skills.
  • Recognise and respond to complex and interconnected client issues using ethical, strengths-based and frameworks.
  • Carry out intake processes including assessments, referrals, inductions, and all required documentation to support client engagement.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client information in line with organisational standards and privacy requirements.
  • Follow organisational procedures for reporting incidents and complains, and actively promote feedback from clients and staff.
  • Support the implementation of inclusive, evidence-based practices that reflect values of social justice, diversity and self-determination.
  • Conduct ongoing safety and rick assessments, taking immediate action when required to ensure the safety of clients and staff.
  • Foster and collaborative and respectful team environment by building positive relationships and offering peer support when needed.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, planning days, and contribute to team discussions to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
  • Suggest improvements to practices and processes, and assist with implementing routine changes to support continuous improvement.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training to maintain and enhance skills relevant to the role.
  • Maintain stick confidentiality regarding all client, staff, and organisational information both during and after employment.
  • Comply with Anglicare's Code of Conduct, policies, procedures and workplace health and safety requirements at all times.
  • Ensure all required credentials and qualifications are kept current and participate in any evaluations or assessments relevant to the role.
  • Undertake additional tasks or duties as delegated by a supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Credentials:

  • Degree in Human Services or similar field (desired)
  • Diploma in Community Services or similar; or equivalent practical experience.
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children)
  • Current Queensland Driver License
