Position Purpose:
The role will deliver a strategic approach to WNSW PHN’s planning for and support in the event of and following disasters and emergencies to ensure rapid re-establishment of general practice, pharmacy, allied health, and mental health services, where these services have been disrupted, and there is a critical need to community functioning and recovery.
The position will work across the organisation to further enhance WNSW PHN's disaster and emergency management maturity including evaluation of provider preparedness and response capabilities. This role will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The position will in the event of a natural disaster or emergency work with the executive to coordinate the PHN’s operational response.
Selection Criteria
Essential
· Undergraduate Qualification in Health, Business, or Project Management.
· Emergency management experience and understanding of the State Emergency Rescue Management Act.
· Experience in a project management role with a sound knowledge of contemporary business and project management practices.
· Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture including a commitment to cultural awareness and safety.
· Proven track record in stakeholder management, including an ability to build relationships and strategic partnerships.
· Exceptional communication skills and the ability to liaise with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational goals and performance.
· Advanced computer skills required for MS Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
· Demonstrated experience in primary health care sector.
· Capacity to travel within western NSW; hold a current driver’s licence.
Desirable
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
· Well-developed analytical problem-solving skills.
· Experience working in the health, NGO or community services sectors
· Experience in working with Aboriginal people, organisations and communities in view of planning and implementing services and achieving outcomes for Aboriginal people.
