Orange Local Aboriginal Land Council (OLALC) is seeking two passionate and committed Men’s Domestic Violence Support Workers to join our growing team. In this vital role, you will provide trauma-informed, culturally safe, and person-centred support to male victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.
What you will be doing
Provide a best-practice, trauma-informed model of service delivery for male victim-survivors
Provide consistent, effective, and timely threat assessment, safety planning, initial contact and case coordination, and other support to male victim-survivors
Ensure an integrated response to male victim-survivors assessed as ‘at Serious Threat’ of further harm due to DFV by working collaboratively with government and non-government partners through the Safety Action Meetings
What we're looking for
Demonstrated experience working with Domestic and Family Violence (DFV)
An understanding of the needs of men who are experiencing DFV
Ability to undertake client safety assessments
Ability to respond to complex referrals involving liaising with Police and Child Protection Agencies
Strong professional boundaries
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to program development and evaluation
The position is based in Orange however you will need to travel to Bathurst for the Safety Action Meetings
