Make an impact at Serco

You will be delivering therapeutic, evidence-based programs that empower individuals to change offending behaviours and build pro-social lifestyles. You’ll work in a supportive, multidisciplinary team within the Programs Department at Acacia Prison. This is a full-time, role focused on behavioural change, rehabilitation, and reducing reoffending.

As a Program Psychologist / Social Worker in the Programs team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Co-facilitating group-based, offence-specific intervention programs
  • Applying cognitive-behavioural techniques to support prisoner rehabilitation
  • Managing participant engagement and challenging behaviour
  • Collaborating across teams to support prisoner case management
  • Preparing high-quality, defendable reports on participant progress
  • Supporting through-care strategies, research, and site-wide staff training

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA or recognised Social Work qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in group facilitation and behavioural interventions
  • Experience working in correctional, welfare, or institutional settings (highly regarded)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
  • A sound understanding of cognitive behavioural approaches to rehabilitation
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and challenging environments
