Spargo’s Cafe Bar (Leadpro Group Pty Ltd as The Trustee for Leadpro Group Unit Trust) is looking for a talented Chef.
Tasks Include:
1. Create and execute innovative menus in conjunction with the head chef, incorporating seasonal ingredients and special offerings.
2. Develop new recipes and refine existing ones based on customer preferences and emerging food trends under the supervision of head chef.
3. Ensure dishes are diverse, imaginative and consistently meet high quality and presentation standards.
4. Work with head chef to oversee day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and a seamless workflow.
5. Monitor the presentation, flavour and quality of all dishes leaving the kitchen.
6. Prepare meals that accommodate dietary restrictions and train new staff in proper cooking techniques.
7. Uphold the highest standards of culinary preparation, taste, and visual appeal.
8. Conduct routine tastings and quality checks before food is served.
9. Resolve any food-related concerns and maintain open communication with head chef and other kitchen staff.
10. Assist head chef in management of the kitchen budget and implement strategies to reduce food waste and control costs.
11. Supervise, coach, and mentor kitchen team members, promoting consistent performance and professionalism.
12. Oversee procurement of ingredients, equipment and kitchen supplies while adhering to budget constraints.
13. Maintain accurate inventory levels and conduct regular stock audits.
14. Ensure full compliance with kitchen health, safety and hygiene regulations.
15. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across all kitchen areas.
16. Oversee the safe storage, handling and disposal of food products.
17. Collaborate with head chef on menu development, promotions and special events.
18. Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure cohesive service and clear communication.
19.Strive for high customer satisfaction by delivering top-quality food and service.
20. Integrate guest feedback into ongoing culinary and service enhancements.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
· Cert IV or Diploma in the relevant field
· Minimum one year working as a Chef in the last five years.
· Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food trends, and menu development.
· Creative and passionate about delivering high-quality dishes.
· Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
· Financial acumen in managing kitchen costs, inventory, and food waste.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
