Responsibilities:
Prepare, marinate, and cook meats, seafood, and vegetables using traditional tandoor methods.
Cook a variety of Indian curries, sauces, and side dishes using authentic recipes and cooking techniques.
Operate and maintain the tandoor oven, ensuring it is always in good working condition.
Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes prepared.
Monitor food preparation and cooking times to meet quality and safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation of dishes.
Manage inventory related to spices, ingredients, and tandoor supplies.
Follow food safety regulations and kitchen protocols at all times.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Tandoor Chef and/or Curry Chef in a professional kitchen.
Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, including regional curry varieties and tandoor techniques.
Ability to prepare marinades, spice blends, and sauces from scratch.
Skilled in operating a tandoor oven and preparing dishes such as naan, kebabs, and tandoori items.
Strong understanding of food hygiene, handling, and kitchen safety practices.
Good time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow traditional and modern recipes accurately and consistently.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
