We are looking for MALE SUPPORT WORKERS WITH EXPERIENCE IN CHALLENGING BEHAVIOURS to join our team in Armadale. You will be working with participants who have challenging behaviours, including physical and verbal aggression. Our participants have mental health diagnoses such as schizophrenia, intellectual disabilities, previous AOD use.

As a support worker, you will assist with self-care tasks, including continence and diabetes management, cooking, cleaning, and helping participants access the community.

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in support work.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping

Providing emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging them in social and recreational activities

Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met in a respectful and dignified manner

Maintaining accurate records and documentation, in accordance with industry standards and company policies

Collaborating with the broader care team to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to client support

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a similar role, providing support to individuals with disabilities

A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification or working towards one

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and empathise with clients

A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities

A commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care and support

A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
