About the role
The Private Sector Labour Relations Division is responsible for regulating and promoting employer compliance with state employment laws, shaping and implementing labour relations policy and legislative reform.
This role is in the Policy and Information branch in Private Sector Labour Relations. Our branch is a small team who work effectively together to progress strategic industrial relations policy matters and provide information to employers and employees on state employment laws.
The role:
Responds to current industrial relations issues and priorities by providing high level strategic policy advice and information to the Minister and other stakeholders.
Prepares Western Government submissions to industrial relations tribunals and consultation processes and responses to International Labour Organization matters.
Represents the Government and Department on cross-government groups, inter-jurisdictional reform projects and in other forums.
Essential requirements for this role:
Significant experience in developing strategic responses and providing advice on complex industrial relations issues.
Extensive knowledge of the employment law and award frameworks that operate in Western Australia.
Demonstrated experience in leading projects to achieve outcomes under tight timeframes.
