Role purpose
The Human Resources Officer provides a high quality administrative and project support to the Human Resource Manager and associated HR advice and support to colleagues.
The Human Resources Officer contributes to the development of a culture that promotes best practice Human Resources and Employer of Choice recognition.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Support and implement policy and procedure development and review and be an authoritative source of guidance for colleagues.
- Prepare Human Resource documentation, maintain high quality records that meet quality assurance requirements and provide accurate and timely reports.
- Provide general support across all aspects of the employee life cycle including:
- Implement, coordinate and report on recruitment procedures including selection panels
- Support induction, onboarding and training procedures.
- Support team members to deliver on their responsibilities and role model exemplary professionalism
- Contribute to the continual improvement of CQID
- At all times work within CQID’s Workplace Health & Safety Policies and Procedures; and
- Any other responsibilities as directed by the Human Resources Manager.
Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate capability in the following areas:
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage and connection to community and culture
- Demonstrated awareness and understanding of complex challenges and key issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
- Certificate III in Business Administration with a minimum of 2 years demonstrated industry experience or no formal qualifications with a minimum 5 years practical experience in the Human Resources field
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of Administration support within a complex and high-paced work environment.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to effectively priorities and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills coupled with a high level of professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm.
- Excellent customer service skills including a commitment to quality customer service, and the capacity to exercise initiative, discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver timely outcomes with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in using computers and particularly the Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resource databases.
