About the Role
The role is responsible for maintaining alignment with funding requirements, supporting program growth, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships. This includes supporting the implementation of the Parent Mentorship program in Western Australia as part of the broader national rollout. Exciting opportunity with potential for extension depending on funding.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
Lead and grow national family mentoring programs.
Support delivery of the WA Parent Mentorship program.
Recruit, train, and support paid and volunteer mentors.
Ensure services meet NDIS and TEI funding requirements.
Help develop new services and find funding opportunities.
Build strong relationships with families, mentors, and partners.
Manage referrals, mentor matching, and support.
Monitor progress and report on program outcomes (e.g. DEX).
Promote Deaf culture, teamwork, and great service.
About You
In your application, let us know if you have these key skills and experience:
You know about deafness, Deaf culture, how deaf children have been taught in the past, and how deaf people communicate.
You understand what families go through when they find out their child is Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH).
You understand the different kinds of hearing loss and how they affect people, as well as the systems that help identify DHH children early.
You have experience leading or running programs, including hiring, training, and supporting staff or volunteers.
You’re good at solving problems, handling conflict calmly, and managing your time well.
You can build strong, respectful relationships with families, professionals, and other organisations.
You understand how services work under the NDIS and government funding, and you’ve used data reporting systems like DEX.
You have (or are willing to get) a Working with Children Check and an NDIS Worker Screening Check before starting the job.
The following would be advantageous:
You’ve done more training or study related to deafness.
You’ve managed a group of clients and can handle urgent or changing work needs.
You’ve written or applied for grant funding before.
