Are you passionate about supporting families and creating positive change in your community? Interrelate is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant CCS Coordinator to help lead the delivery and quality management of our Children's Contact Service (CCS) in Dubbo.

In this pivotal role, you'll contribute to a service that plays a vital role in the lives of children and families-providing a safe, neutral, and child-focused environment where meaningful connections can flourish. Whether it's facilitating supervised contact or supporting smooth change-over arrangements, your work will help children maintain and strengthen relationships with family members they may not otherwise see.

Key duties will include:

  • With assistance from the Coordinator, support the delivery of the service within expectations of the service delivery schedule, working towards meeting targets and within budget
  • Support the Coordinator to actively promote the service through networking within the community
  • Support CCS staff to develop and maintain quality observation, report writing and note taking skills by reading and reviewing notes, observation reports, and providing the necessary training
  • Prepare staff rosters, schedule appointments for contact visits and change overs
  • Participate in recruitment, induction, and training for the Children's Contact Service
  • Participate in collaborative case management discussions to support the delivery of wrap-around services and integrated support to clients as part of Interrelate's multi-disciplinary team
  • Conduct supervised visits and change overs when required. Observe and note significant behaviours of children and parents for observation reports and for follow up and/or inclusion in family case management plans
  • Under the guidance of the Coordinator, respond to formal requests for information from the court and other statutory authorities, including compiling subpoenas
  • Follow child protection procedures, complete risk assessment and procedures

This position is a Fixed term contract until 30 June 2026, working 30 hours per week and will require the successful candidate to have the availability to be on call on Saturdays when required.
Access to a car and a drivers licence is essential.

This position will be based in Dubbo, however may also require travel to other sites within the local region to support community visits.

The hourly rate is in line with a SCHADS Award level 5 position, with a rate of $53.24 per hour Mon - Fri and Saturday rate is $79.86 per hour, plus 11.5% superannuation and access to Salary Packaging.


Key role requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counselling or related discipline.
  • Working with families and children experiencing separation
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of child development, child protection and the Office of the Children's Guardian's National Child Safe Standards
  • Ability to provide culturally appropriate support to meet specific needs of First Nations, LGBTQ+ and Culturally & Linguistically Diverse families
  • Experience working with families within a case management setting
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) skills and IT savviness
  • Report writing, case notes, data collection and data entry experience
  • Relationships with the community and local networks will be highly regarded
  • Awareness of Family Law Court procedures will be highly regarded
