Position Summary:

The GMP Facility Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient maintenance of all plant and equipment within the facility, while strictly adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements. This role will support the ongoing operation of a safe, clean, and compliant manufacturing environment by providing both corrective and preventative maintenance for mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment used in production.

Key Responsibilities:

Preventative and Corrective Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs to mechanical systems and equipment (e.g., pumps, conveyors, motors, etc.) in compliance with GMP standards.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.

Monitor equipment performance and identify potential issues before they impact production, implementing corrective actions where necessary.

Compliance and Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities in accordance with GMP, regulatory, and company policies.

Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental guidelines.

Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with GMP and quality standards.

Equipment Calibration and Installation:

Oversee the calibration, installation, and testing of new mechanical equipment.

Ensure that all equipment meets the manufacturer’s specifications and complies with GMP requirements.

Facility Support:

Provide maintenance support for other systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building infrastructure.

Support facility upgrades and modifications as necessary, ensuring all work is completed to meet GMP standards

Safety & Risk Management:

Identify and report any safety hazards related to machinery or equipment.

Conduct risk assessments and follow all required safety protocols during maintenance work.

Ensure that work areas are clean, safe, and organized at all times.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to production schedules.

Communicate effectively with other departments (e.g., quality, production, safety) to ensure alignment on maintenance priorities and activities.

Provide technical advice and support to other team members when needed.

Qualifications:

Education: Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field .

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance within a regulated GMP environment (pharmaceutical, food production, etc.).

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment used in manufacturing environments.

Previous experience with maintenance software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Proficient in the use of maintenance tools and equipment.

Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve mechanical issues efficiently.

Strong understanding of GMP, health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and compliance.

Additional Requirements:

Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, heights, and areas with fluctuating temperatures.

Ability to lift up to 15 kg and perform manual tasks such as carrying tools or parts.

Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts if required to support operations.

Certifications: Relevant certifications in safety, maintenance, or specific mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, refrigeration) are a plus.
