The College
The Springfield Anglican College (TSAC) is a coeducational Kindergarten to Year 12 school with an enrolment of approximately 1200 students. TSAC is a leading independent school in the rapidly developing growth corridor of South West Brisbane. Just 30 minutes from Brisbane CBD, the College comprises of two campuses, dedicated to Primary and Secondary schooling, respectively.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Full Time permanent Facilities and Grounds Officer. The role of the Facilities and Grounds Officer is to ensure the College grounds, gardens and facilities are maintained at a high level of operational effectiveness and public presentation. The Facilities and Grounds Officer will work closely with and assist the other members of the Facilities team under the leadership of the Facilities Manager. As a member of the Facilities team, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective operation of the facilities and grounds by conducting regular inspections and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required within the skills and competence of the incumbent. The Facilities and Grounds Officer will regularly inspect facilities to ensure high standards of presentation and safety are met while undertaking all activities within the requirements of sound Workplace Health and Safety practice.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in facilities or grounds maintenance, preferably within a school or educational environment, a pro-active can-do attitude and sound knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures and regulations. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety in their day, and is committed to creating a safe and well-maintained environment for our students, staff and school community.
It is a mandatory requirement for the Facilities and Grounds Officer to hold a current and valid Queensland Working with Children Paid Blue Card, a Queensland Drivers Licence and have full Australian working rights. A Certificate IV or Trade qualification in a relevant field would be advantageous.
