Are you passionate about water efficiency, the environment, and helping people, businesses, and school students value water more and use it wisely? The Water Conservancy is looking for a dynamic Marketing Manager to lead our consumer and industry marketing strategies, raise awareness, and generate custom for our programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the successful water awareness initiative - Water Night, through national and local partnerships.
- Establish and deliver campaigns to encourage people to choose Smart Drop Certified products and services that save water.
- Promote school incursions, water audit programs for businesses, and other initiatives through innovative marketing strategies.
The Water Conservancy leads the way as an independent knowledge resource and advisory hub for the education, facilitation, and adoption of a more conscious and efficient approach to water use in Australia. As an independent not for profit, we are committed to enabling all Australians to be conscious of their relationship with water, to value it, understand it and use it efficiently in order to waste less.
Working at The Water Conservancy is fun and rewarding with a good work/life balance. We work two days a week in the office shared with the Water Services Association Australia in Sydney CBD and three days from home.

The position
Water Night (July – November)
o Creative development, strategic planning & program development
o Manage and implement all components of the integrated Water Night campaign
o Development of campaign assets for sponsors and supporters
o Management of influencers, ambassadors and other key campaign stakeholders
o Copywriting and design of research report for media opportunities
o Management of events eg: Water Launch event and social media live events
o Post campaign evaluation and production of Water Night Impact report.
Smart Drop Certified (November and May)
o Strategic marketing & campaign development.
o Delivery of two SDC campaigns in November and May to 3 main audiences - consumers, potential new product applicants and the water industry.
Smart Water Advice (Ongoing)
o Development of content, especially social graphics/video for Smart Water Advice subscriber use.
o Efficient delivery of any collateral rebranding and tweaking at subscriber’s request.
o Marketing of resources direct to subscribers
Smart Water Solutions & Walter Smart and Friends (Ongoing)
o Develop a marketing strategy to actively promote these programs
o Promote across social media, TWC comms
Skills and experience
Essential
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience in marketing
· A degree in Marketing or equivalent
· Demonstrated skills and experience in the production of advertising and other marketing collateral, print and online.
· Passion for the environment and an enthusiasm for working in the sustainability sector.
· Demonstrated experience developing creative strategy and content.
· Demonstrated experience discovering and managing social media influencers.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision, using sound judgement and problem-solving skills to juggle competing priorities.
· Ability to act effectively as part of a team or independently as required.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills including a demonstrated ability to prioritise and execute many tasks in an efficient manner.
· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Commitment to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Desirable
· Experience in the water industry
· Familiarity with SquareSpace and Canva
· Strong analytical ability – analyse data, develop insights
· Understanding of consumer needs and behaviour
· Demonstrated ability to work with and support a wide range of stakeholders
Terms of Appointment
Full-time 1 year contract with potential to extend. A flexible and attractive remuneration package is available for the right candidate.
