re you a strategic leader with a passion for water management and sustainability? We are seeking a dynamic professional to drive the integration of Integrated Water Cycle Management (IWCM) Strategy principles across Council’s operations.
In this role, you will provide leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight for key water management initiatives, including Water Demand Management, Water Loss Management, Urban Rainwater Tank, and Drought Management strategies.
You will also coordinate and supervise the efficient operation of Council’s water meter and metered standpipe fleets, ensuring accurate and timely customer water billing through effective management of the Meter Reading Team.

About the role:
- Development, budgeting, performance tracking, coordination, and integration of water demand management, demand substitution, water recycling, water loss management, and drought management programs and projects
- Supervise the Meter Reading team to ensure the efficient execution of meter reading operations, adherence to strict deadlines, and accuracy in meter reads for precise customer billing
- Provide strategic advice, review strategic documents, and develop implementation plans
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to minimise water losses and reduce non-revenue water.

We are seeking:
- Bachelor of Engineering degree and eligible for membership of Engineers Australia
- Experience in the Water and Wastewater Industry as a Professional Engineer
- Experience in Water Demand Management and Integrated Water Cycle Management
- Experience in managing connections to the reticulated water supply with particular emphasis on water metering and customer billing processes
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff and multidisciplinary teams.

This position is based in Tweed Heads and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
