About the Role
We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as Chief Clinical Neurophysiology Scientist in a newly created senior leadership role within the Clinical Neurophysiology Department based at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH).
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our neurodiagnostic services across the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS). Working in close partnership with the Head of Neurology, you will play a pivotal role in setting the strategic direction of our neurodiagnostic program—enhancing clinical governance and ensuring the delivery of comprehensive, high-quality, and patient-centred care for children and families across Western Australia.
You will lead a cohesive and high-performing team, focused on delivering high quality clinical assessments and care. You will build workforce capability across all levels (P1–P3), foster leadership and professional development opportunities, and promote active involvement in education, research, and collaborative initiatives, such as working groups focused on complex epilepsy to enhance outcomes and care for children with neurological conditions.
Drawing on your clinical expertise and proven leadership in acute healthcare settings, you will drive the growth, innovation, and sustainability of paediatric neurophysiology services. This includes developing responsive and sustainable models of care, advancing EEG and VEEG diagnostic services, and exploring hybrid approaches such as home-based neurodiagnostic testing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading strategic planning, policy development, and service innovation for clinical neurophysiology
- Managing clinical demand, workforce planning, and departmental operations, including finance, procurement, and equipment
- Ensuring compliance with ANSA standards and leading KPI development, benchmarking, and quality improvement
- Driving new models of neurodiagnostic care, including hybrid, home-based, and externally delivered services
- Advocating for the value and visibility of paediatric neurophysiology within CAHS and the broader health system
- Overseeing training and development for the neurophysiology team (P1–P3), fostering a culture of excellence and evidence-based practice
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships across CAHS, academia, and external providers

About our Team
Our specialised clinic operates as part of the Neurology Department at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) and caters to children from preterm to 18 years of age, particularly those with epilepsy.
We offer a comprehensive range of services from EEGs to Intraoperative Monitoring during brain and spinal surgeries. Our EEG satellite service to King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) provides Neonatal EEGs for infants in intensive care.
