Overview of Position

As an Operational Risk and Control Manager for IPS, you will be supporting the account management team by working with organisations to analyse portfolio information and data to provide advice on policy, business, and organisational methods, especially with regard to identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.

Relevant tasks may include:

Analysing, organising and managing portfolio information and data.

Advising on policy development, business improvement, and organisational methodologies.

Monitoring and strengthening internal control systems.

Identifying, evaluating, and mitigating operational and compliance risks.

Supporting investment and portfolio reporting and ensuring data integrity.

· Examining organisational structures and workflows to identify problems and implement efficiency improvements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Core objectives include:

Analyse and manage portfolio data and client queries, ensuring efficient resolution and meaningful data organisation.

Organise and maintain Managed Asset data, including pricing, transaction and income information.

Review and assess Business Reports, ensuring data accuracy and business insights.

Manage and streamline portfolio and investment transaction workflows, with appropriate risk controls.

Generate, structure and evaluate reports to support portfolio and operational decisions.

Maintain consistency in client communication through effective management of email templates and bulk communications.

Monitor and investigate data anomalies through Error Report Workflows, identifying root causes and risk implications.

Oversee the preparation and distribution of Tax Reports, ensuring compliance and integrity of financial reporting.

Manage ETO transactions, applying rigorous information control and adhering to internal policies.

Conduct Portfolio Variation reconciliation, ensuring data completeness and identifying systemic risks.

Advise on and contribute to improvements in internal workflows, business processes and data structures.

Support internal control mechanisms and ensure that risk mitigation strategies are implemented effectively.

Provide structured insights and recommendations to enhance compliance, internal control and operational resilience.

Other Duties

Fulfill additional duties as required by management to support the broader objectives of the company.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

Degree in Finance, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Experience

1+ year experience in data management, preferably within wealth management (investment management, investment platforms, financial advice, stockbroking).

Experience with internal control or operational risk functions is highly regarded.

Knowledge

Understanding of wealth management industry landscape.

Awareness of internal control frameworks and risk mitigation strategies.
