This global FinTech defines their success in a culture of collaboration, trust, and ambition, driven by a talented and dedicated team. The Operational Risk Manager will lead efforts to identify, mitigate, and manage risks across their global business. You’ll work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to build and refine robust controls.
The Role
- Design and implement effective operational controls across trading, finance, and operations.
- Conduct Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and prepare compliance evidence for leadership and the Board.
- Oversee third-party and global operational risks, including partnerships in the European operations.
- Support internal and external audits with key documentation on risk control effectiveness.
- Work closely with compliance, trading, IT, and data teams to improve risk systems and data analysis tools.
- Act as a trusted business advisor, fostering a culture of risk awareness and proactive management.
- Provide guidance and development support to 1 direct report, with plans for team expansion.
- Lead and actively participate in Risk Committee board meetings.
- Contribute to high-level decisions and operational strategy through project involvement.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in operational risk management, preferably within the banking or other highly regulated financial services industry. Stockbroking, Financial Markets, FinTech and/or Trading experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of RCSAs, control design, AFSL compliance, third-party risk management, and business continuity planning (BCP).
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mindset to identify emerging trends and assess risk.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
- A passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering solutions that meet the needs of customers.
