About This Opportunity

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional HR advice and making a real impact in a complex, client-focused environment? We're looking for a dynamic and solutions-focused HR Advisor to join our collaborative HR Advisory team.

In this pivotal role, you'll be the go-to advisor for a defined client portfolio, providing timely, clear and practical HR advice across the full spectrum of operational HR matters. From performance management and recruitment to diversity and inclusion, your work will ensure the consistent and effective application of UQ's HR policies and frameworks.

You'll play a key role in supporting organisational objectives, enhancing the staff experience, and contributing to the continuous improvement of HR services. Whether you're managing day-to-day advisory services, escalating complex matters, or contributing to broader HR initiatives, this role offers variety, impact, and the chance to thrive in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide timely, accurate and practical HR advice across a range of matters including recruitment, performance management, policy interpretation, and case management.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to staff and supervisors, ensuring consistent application of HR policies and procedures to meet operational and strategic needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across HR functions to deliver a seamless and client-focused service experience.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the development of HR resources, user guides, and feedback mechanisms to enhance service delivery.

About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end HR advice and support across key areas such as recruitment, performance management, policy interpretation and employee relations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement in managing a diverse range of sensitive and complex HR issues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and effectively influence stakeholders.
  • A client-focused mindset with a commitment to providing high-quality, timely and solutions-oriented HR support.
  • Experience working in a large, complex organisation with the ability to navigate policy frameworks and adapt to changing priorities.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia and a criminal check.
