Title: Street Sweeping Operator, Permanent - Full-time Role, 38 hours per week

Salary Range: $67153.79 to $78043.57 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

The Waste Management & Cleansing Business Unit provides a range of services relating to cleansing, waste, and resource recovery, including collection services as well as being the key point of contact for the management of Kimbriki. It provides accurate and timely advice and uses better practice methods and procedures while developing new and innovative solutions.

The Waste Management & Cleansing Business Unit will deliver the following services:
• Cleansing
• Waste and Resource Recovery
• Education
• Litterbin Services

Our Opportunity:

The key focus areas of this role include:
1. Operating full size and compact mechanical street sweeping vehicles safely, in a variety of traffic and weather conditions.
2. Providing scheduled and ad-hoc sweeping service in designated streets, carparks and other public areas, ensuring clean and tidy public spaces.
3. Conducting manual sweeping to remove litter, debris, leaves and other materials from gutters where mechanical sweeping is not possible
4. Perform pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment and reporting any defects to ensure equipment and operations are safe
5. Conduct basic routine maintenance on equipment, to ensure machinery is fully operational and to minimise service interruptions
6. This position is eligible for 9-day fortnight roster

About you:

We’re looking for a Suitably Qualified Candidate to join our Public Waste & Cleansing Services team. You’ll bring experience and skillset relevant to a role in Public Place Cleansing to a team passionate about making a difference to our community.
Experience and knowledge operating and basic maintenance of Rosmech street sweepers are highly desirable.

Interview will include two stages. First stage will be a face-to-face based session. Successful candidates that passed the first interview will progress to the second stage, which will include a practical session operating a Council owned street sweeper (make of the vehicle and date will be notified to candidate following successful completion of Stage One)
