The Opportunity
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in a full-time, permanent capacity. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to deepen their accounting experience and play a key part in supporting the financial operations of a growing business.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll work closely with internal teams to ensure the integrity of financial data and contribute to ongoing process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts receivable and accounts payable

Prepare weekly receivables and payables reports

Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Manage the weekly payroll process, including STP submissions and superannuation reconciliations

Collaborate with the Sales team on collections and customer account updates

Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations

Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required

About You

Certificate IV or higher in Accounting/Bookkeeping (or working towards a qualification such as CPA/CA is a plus)

At least 4 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role

Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or above)

Experience with Xero is a must

Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams

Highly organised and able to manage priorities and deadlines independently
