About the opportunity
Southern Cross University is seeking a Team Leader, Library Systems to lead the delivery and optimisation of the Library’s digital services and systems, including the website, research outputs repository, and content management platforms. This role ensures effective access to library collections that support the University’s teaching, learning, and research priorities.
As a member of the Library Services leadership team, the Team Leader oversees system operations, reporting, and integration with enterprise platforms. The position also contributes to strategic planning and represents the Library in University projects, partnerships, and external forums. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development, coordination, and optimisation of the Library’s digital platforms, including the website, research outputs repository, discovery systems, and third-party integrations, under the direction of the Manager, Library Systems and Resources.
- Monitor, evaluate, and improve system performance by applying evidence-based practices and analytics to support compliance, inform innovation, and enhance the user experience.
- Manage and resolve complex technical issues affecting Library systems and services, ensuring a seamless user experience across platforms.
- Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders to align services with strategic goals and maximise user impact and value.
- Lead, support, and develop the Library Systems team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and service excellence in alignment with University objectives.
About you
You are a technically skilled and collaborative library professional with leadership experience, a strong understanding of digital library systems in higher education, and a commitment to service excellence, innovation, and equity. More specifically, you will have:
- A relevant degree with knowledge of library systems and digital services that support teaching, learning, and research in a university or research library.
- Experience leading and managing teams, with a proven ability to manage performance, lead teams through change, and foster a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated technical expertise, with experience in library management systems and a keen interest in emerging library technologies and practices.
- Well-developed communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, capable of managing projects and building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- A commitment to cultural diversity, equity, and workplace safety.
Salary and benefits
Our staff benefit from flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work models, generous parental and carer’s leave provisions, wellbeing initiatives, employee assistance programs and professional learning opportunities. This position is:
- Full-time, continuing (permanent)
- Located at either Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480. Generous relocation support available.
- HEW 7. The base salary ranges from $104,697 - $113,681 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $133,006.
