Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Business Services Officer (Disability and Client Services) to join Student Services, People Services, Administrative Division.

The Business Services Officer (Disability and Client Services) operates within Disability and Accessibility Services and delivers a range of administrative support to a team of professionals, engages with student cohorts and plays a key role in providing operational support. Additionally, the position involves delivering a professional and responsive frontline enquiry management service at Student Services reception and QUT Medical Centres during peak periods.

Student Services is responsible for providing a range of services to support the health and wellbeing of students in areas of Accommodation, Chaplaincy, Counselling, Disability and Accessibility Support, International Student Support, Welfare and Financial Support Services and QUT Medical Centres..

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a degree, or completion of an associate diploma with at least two years’ subsequent relevant work experience.
  2. Proven ability to identify, interpret, apply and analyse policies and procedures to advise clients accurately, problem solve and to develop workable solutions to address client needs.
  3. Demonstrated skills in the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint and the ability to competently use corporate information systems.
  4. Effective written, verbal and digital communication skills with proven ability to prepare a wide range of reports, submissions and briefing notes as required.
  5. Ability to work autonomously in an agile work environment and as part of a collaborative team focussed on delivering a high standard of client service.
  6. Proven ability to manage time and high- volume tasks efficiently, as well as respond positively to unexpected challenges at short notice.
  7. Demonstrated ability to handle and monitor sensitive information within a confidential environment.
