The Senior Manager of Government Relations at ANU, under the direction of the Head of Government Relations, plays a pivotal role in navigating the University’s place in the policy and political landscape. This dynamic role involves developing strategies, advocating for the University's interests with influential external stakeholders, and elevating ANU's expertise and value nationally and globally. The role demands an experienced leader with strong political and policy acumen, strategic judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a deep understanding of politics and policy across all levels of government, exceptional strategic judgement, and the ability to navigate complex governmental processes confidently. They excel in building relationships, and demonstrating persuasive diplomacy to effectively engage a diverse array of stakeholders. Thriving in fast-paced settings, they maintain composure under pressure, drive meaningful outcomes, and possess outstanding communication skills.
