Do you have lived experience of caring or having cared for someone with a life limiting illness and are looking to make a difference in the lives of others?
Join Karuna as a Peer Facilitator to deliver our In-Person Peer Support (IPPS) programs for carers. In this meaningful role, you’ll create a safe and supportive space where carers (whether currently providing care or recently bereaved) can connect, reflect, and grow through the power of shared experience.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Facilitate engaging peer support sessions
Share your lived experience to build trust and foster resilience among carers
Promote wellbeing using the CHIME framework
Champion self-care, empowerment, and connection
Collaborate with the Karuna team to develop inclusive, community-led programs
What You’ll Bring:
Essential
Your own lived experience as a carer of someone with a life-limiting illness
Confidence in group facilitation and storytelling
A Certificate IV in a relevant field or equivalent experience
Valid Driver’s Licence, National Police Check and Blue/Yellow Cards
Legal right to work in Australia
A compassionate, respectful, and courageous spirit aligned with Karuna’s values
Desirable
Multilingual skills
Knowledge of local carer and health support networks
