The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Assessment and Reporting Division in the Assessment Operations Unit for a fixed term full-time position.
- Salary: $97,955 - $111,142 (Plus Superannuation of 11.5%)
- Fixed term till 31 December 2025
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexible work conditions may be available)
- Usual work location: Coburg Assessment Centre
Role purpose
The Administration Advisor contributes towards the provision of strategic support to Assessment Operations unit by completing administrative and operational tasks associated with the VCE external assessment program. This may include providing high-level administrative support across a range of areas responsible for the processing of performance, languages oral and written external assessments. The position is responsible for:
- coordinating assessor training and marking meetings, including scheduling, and planning of assessment related tasks with internal and external stakeholders
- leading a team of administrative support staff responsible for supporting the VCE external assessment program including overseeing staff induction, training, supervision and rostering
- managing internal and external stakeholder communications; including overseeing management of a dedicated Assessment Support mailbox.
- developing and maintaining process documents and schedules via document management platforms including scanning, organising and uploading of documentation associated with the administration of the VCE external assessment program
- where necessary, providing additional support to a range of Assessment Operations teams.
About the unit
The Assessment Operations unit is responsible for:
- logistical and administrative processes associated with the conduct and administration of VCE external assessments
- development, implementation and review of the VCE examination timetable and associated assessment schedules
- training and monitoring of sessional staff appointed to mark VCE external assessments
- managing the marking of externally assessed VCE assessments including the GAT
- developing, managing the implementation and review of the VCAA Special Provision policy and procedures.

Experience and qualifications
Demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive office administration support and managing complex administrative tasks is essential.
