Stewarts Engineering is seeking a qualified and experienced tradesperson for the position of Project Leading Hand. to oversee our ongoing offsite projects.

About you:

The ideal candidate will have a strong fabrication background, experience overseeing projects, display effective communication skills, be a positive team member and be independent in their work. To fulfil the duties of the role, the right candidate will understand and decipher technical drawings, be able to set priorities and delegate tasks to achieve strict delivery deadlines whilst ensuring projects runs smoothly and efficiently

Description:

Reporting directly to Senior Management, the Leading Hand is responsible for overseeing & assisting offsite projects and actively promoting a safe and productive environment, delivery schedules are met and quality standards are achieved

The role is hands on position offering a diverse range of duties including hands on fabrication work offsite and onsite and the opportunity to be part of a growing company

Defined Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise work of employees to ensure schedules, safety, quality, efficiency and housekeeping standards are maintained. .

Interpretation of plans, drawings and specifications and the ability to support and direct employees according to the job specifications. .

At all times ensure adherence to all company policies (including Work Health and Safety, Environmental and Human Resources), safety standards and good housekeeping practices

Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operation requirements as directed, including general workshop fabrication.

Essential Criteria:

Trade qualifications in Fabrication / Fitter.

Proven welding/light fabrication experience in MIG, TIG and OXY (3+ years)

Previous experience in Site Work Shutdowns & Installs.

Comprehensive working knowledge of plate work, structural steel fabrication and construction work.

Experience in trouble shooting & problem solving.

Demonstrated ability to understand and work from technical drawings.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

White Card & C Class Drivers License.

Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing & pre-employment medical.

Remuneration for the right applicant – $45.00 to $50.00 p/h plus Super.

This is an Esperance WA Residential position. No FIFO Available
