3rd Rail Distribution has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Marketing Specialist to join our tight-knit team on the Gold Coast. We're looking for someone who truly understands surf culture and can communicate authentically and engagingly with our audience, both online and offline.
This role is ideal for a self-driven marketer who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing creative thinking with strategic execution. The position contributes directly to our broader business and brand strategy, not just implementation, and reports directly to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning and execution of brand and sales-driven marketing campaigns across digital and print platforms.
Collaborate with senior management to shape strategic campaigns that resonate with target audiences and support long-term business goals.
Manage all elements of campaign development—from concept and copywriting to design assets, video production, and media planning—ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
Translate customer insights, industry trends, and market data into clear, actionable marketing direction.
Assist in setting marketing strategy and contributing to broader brand development initiatives.
Identify market opportunities and competitor activity through ongoing research and industry engagement.
Refine product positioning, messaging, and promotional strategies in collaboration with internal teams.
Create and manage content across web, email, and social platforms while maintaining brand tone and identity.
Oversee marketing tools and platforms, including Klaviyo (email automation), Meta Business Suite (paid social), and Shopify (eCommerce content management).
Use forecasting and performance analysis to assess the impact of pricing and campaign strategies on engagement and profitability.
Deliver reporting and insights through regular performance tracking and KPI measurement.
Provide strategic input into pricing and promotional initiatives based on market trends and campaign performance
Collaborate on SEO and website updates to improve visibility, user experience, and lead generation.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
At least one year of full-time, relevant work experience (or 3–5 years of relevant full-time work instead of a formal qualification).
Strong writing and communication skills.
Experience working within the surf, skate or action sports industry is highly desirable.
Hands-on experience with Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Klaviyo, and Shopify.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite—particularly Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end content creation and publishing.
Familiarity with brand strategy, digital campaign coordination, and creative asset development.
Desirable:
Experience coordinating influencer or ambassador partnerships
Salary:
$77,000 per annum, based on a full-time 76-hour fortnight.
