Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Service that provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.

About the Opportunity

This position is identified where, under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.

About You

We are seeking applicants who have:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative or marketing role in a service focussed setting preferably in an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander work environment.

Good knowledge of administration practices with sound computing skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, and demonstrated ability to learn new applications.

Sound literacy and numeracy skills

Sound interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships

Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs.

Ideally you will

Cert III in Business Administration

Completed graphic design or related studies

Experience in developing design products (brochures, posters etc) or in using design tools, such as the Adobe Creative Suite.

Interest in photography/videography for social media consumption.

Mandatory requirements

Current Queensland Drivers Licence

Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement

Current AFP National Police Clearance or willing to obtain

Must be willing and have the ability to travel in Cape York either by light aircraft or 4WD as required.
