Our highly valued client is a federal government agency. They are seeking an SAS Administrator to join their team.

• Richmond or Geelong location plus hybrid work-from-home
• 12-month initial contract + 12-month extension
• Role only open to Australian Citizens - Federal government client
• Must be able to obtain NV1 Security Clearance

The role:
The SAS Administrator is a professional that manages, maintains, and optimises SAS software and environments for businesses and organisations. They work with SAS users, IT, and business users to ensure the platform is optimised and running smoothly. They provide users with support and ensure data quality and integrity. The focus for this role will be on the Integrity Management System (built on Visual Investigator).
The EL1 SAS Administrator will work with a project team and other SMEs to ensure that the SAS IMS Platform supports the 'Crack Down on Fraud' program of work and meets the business requirements of the program.
Duties will include:

• Platform Management: Managing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the SAS Viya platform, including upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting
• User Support: Aiding SAS IMS users, answering questions, and resolving issues related to the software and its applications
• Performance Optimisation: Optimising SAS performance, including tuning queries, monitoring resource utilisation, and identifying and resolving bottlenecks

Essential
1. Minimum of two years' experience working as a SAS Viya Administrator in a Cloud Computing environment.
2. IMS/Visual Investigator experience preferred.
3. A proficient understanding of security concepts around the above areas.
4. Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Xtreme Programming).
5. Good problem-solving and communication skills (log debug and RCA for issues)
6. Basic understanding of Kubernetes for day-to-day application administration
Desirable
1. SAS IMS Experience
2. Ability to read, understand and code in SAS, Python, JSON and Shell scripts
3. AWS knowledge - esp. for SAS Viya
4. SAS Viya Administration
5. Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Xtreme Programming).
6. Good problem-solving and communication skills
