Calroc is currently seeking to recruit qualified and experienced Formwork Carpenters to join the team.
Most of the work is carried out throughout the Perth region, with some Regional opportunities available throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Interpreting drawings and specifications to establish installation procedures and materials required
- General carpentry including cutting, assembling, joining timber and concrete formwork
- Erecting, propping, and securing formwork
- Re-sheeting timber moulding and formwork
- Following all code requirements for Australian building standards
- Supervising, teaching, and directing apprentice carpenters
- Select and evaluate materials for defects
- Liaising with project managers, team members, trades, and suppliers
- Participating in workplace training programs as required
- Demonstrate ability to work unsupervised with strong focus on timekeeping and attendance
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
- Leading the Quality and Safety culture in the yard along with feedback to the factory
- Participating in setting up new projects: mould assembly and formwork
- Establishing production forecast with Precast Manager and project team
Skills and abilities
- High level of competency in measuring, cutting and installing frames and structures
- Proficient and the safe use of hand and power tools with measuring instruments are essential
- Excellent communication and client liaison skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Inspiring leadership
- In-depth understanding of fabrication drawings
- Understanding of specifications and tolerances
- Organizational skills
- Team player with a collaborative attitude
- Ability to work to tight schedules in a high paced work environment
- Secondary skills such as Steelfixing, Welding and Concreting advantageous
Qualification
- Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent
Work Experience
- Ideally minimum of 3 years’ experience in the commercial construction, residential or facilities maintenance field
