The Role

You will be responsible for working across the systems engineering process from requirements to design to development to testing, delivery and sustainment. You will work in multi-disciplinary teams delivering systems using technologies from Radio Frequencies and wired communications to networking to computing and software systems. The systems will range from small scale, bespoke solutions to some of the largest scale, complex enterprise systems in Australia.

Key Duties:

• Be accountable and responsible to the respective Program Director and provide specialist advice and guidance on specific ASD ICT architectures and designs relating to ASD’s capability development
• Responsible for leading systems engineering activities in support of the delivery of major programs and projects across ASD
• The systems engineering activities will include, but not be limited to, technical advice, requirements capture and management, systems design in conjunction with various engineering specialists, systems delivery and test & evaluation activities
• Will be responsible for continued development, implementation and sustainment of established systems and the coordination of systems engineering activities.

• Industry experience, formal training or a particular domain expertise
• The ability to design, build and administer systems according to the high standard expected throughout ASD and in accordance to industry protocols
• The ability to tailor your communication style to effectively engage various audiences
• The ability to be work flexibly and both independently and within the team
• Have the capacity and discipline to build and manage systems in accordance with our high standards
• Have some experience in producing formal systems engineering documentation.
