A Commonwealth government training facility located on the Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria is offering an exciting opportunity for people with relevant experience, located in this local region, to have the opportunity to work in the APS without travelling into Melbourne office locations. The training facility supports training for multiple commonwealth departments and the roles they are looking to recruit are Facilities and Technologist Officers, from entry level to executive level (APS4-EL1).

The roles:
These roles focus on the management of facilities and infrastructure across the training facility as well as the management of IT equipment, networking and other complex electrical systems. Expertise across both these areas, in a similar role, would be ideal but there will be more experienced staff in the team to develop capability of the junior staff or if needing to learn certain components of the role.

Technologists:
Technologists are responsible for the set up and configuration (and troubleshooting) of laptops, desktops and mobile devices. Troubleshooting capability across hardware, software and networks form part of the role and assisting with AV set up, guidance and education for users on technical issues and supporting more complex problems with equipment and systems.

Facilities:
The Facilities roles are responsible for delivering facilities, infrastructure and maintenance activities across the facility. This includes;

• Planning and delivering minor facilities projects
• Management of contracts, budgets and project plans
• Administration of project, process and policy documents

The Person:
For success in these roles there are some key attributes, qualifications or backgrounds that are highly desirable, depending on the level you are applying to:

• Trade or engineering background
• Experience managing minor projects or contractors, to support maintenance and refurbishment projects’
• Stakeholder engagement and liaison with contractors and external customers
• More than four years’ experience in a similar role, with limited supervision (APS6 role)
• Ability to apply high level technical and specialist knowledge (EL1 levels)
• Lead teams of technical staff to meet quality and regulatory outcomes (EL1 levels)
• Ability to develop and foster strong professional relationships

To be eligible to be considered for these roles you must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Salary range is $93,591 - $163,364 plus super (15.4%) (APS4-EL1 salary range).
