Due to an internal promotion, our Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) Procurement team have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join the team.
Position Overview:
The Contracts Manager will develop an in-depth knowledge of the industry segments in their portfolio, including structure, market size, key players, and strategies. This role involves developing and assessing specifications for tender documents and supporting strategic procurement practices by councils.
Key Responsibilities:
Tender and Contract Management: Undertake tender and contract management activities in line with MAV Procurement policies and processes to meet council requirements as described in the Local Government Act 2020.
Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and council stakeholders to maximise contract use and supplier compliance, ensuring mutual benefits from commercial arrangements.
Advisory Role: Provide advice and support to the Victorian Local Government Sector regarding procurement and contract management, enhancing MAV's reputation as the peak body for Victorian local government.
Promotion and Marketing: Support the promotion, marketing, and uptake of MAV Procurement contracts.
Contribution to Goals: Contribute to the delivery of MAV Procurement activities to meet the wider MAV’s goals and objectives, including revenue generation from contract use.

This role is located at 1 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne, adjacent to Parliament Gardens. We offer a welcoming, healthy, and inclusive workplace and a hybrid model of working from the office and working from home.
What You'll Bring:
A good understanding of public sector procurement and the requirements of local government in Victoria regarding purchasing legislation, policy, and practice.
Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and council stakeholders.
Experience in tender and contract management.
Excellent communication and advisory skills.
Ability to support strategic procurement practices and contribute to organisational goals.
