The Role
Join us and help shape the nuclear powered submarine program via the AUKUS partnership that will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
We are hiring across multiple roles at the EL1 level and are looking for team-oriented, collaborative individuals who are committed to working towards meaningful, long-term initiatives that support the nuclear powered submarine program.
Ready to make a difference? These roles are all about driving impact in key areas, collaborating across functions and working closely with a diverse range of teams to develop, train and maintain the nuclear engineering, science and technology workforce.
You will closely work with others to deliver meaningful outcomes, with key areas of focus including:
- Leading impactful programs that drive strategic outcomes – design and deliver professionalisation pathways that focus on building the Australian Submarine Agency’s Nuclear Engineering, Science and Technology workforce
- Designing and implementing forward thinking initiatives that enhance capability and deliver lasting impact – lead technical upskilling activities by identifying and facilitating training that contributes to building future readiness
- Contributing to shaping a capable and future ready technical workforce – via structured planning use sound and proven measures to uplift and grow the specialist workforce required to meet the optimal pathway
- Driving continuous improvement through effective program oversight – through targeted interventions deliver key project outcomes and strategic workforce solutions to build deep, diverse and sustainable talent pipelines to achieve a suitable skilled and experienced sovereign workforce
- Building and cultivating strong professional networks – through partnerships with government, industry and academic partners, nationally and internationally, develop, enhance and deliver science, technology, engineering and mathematics education and training pathways
About our Team
These Assistant Director roles sit within the primary team responsible for building, developing and sustaining the organisation’s nuclear engineering, and science and technology workforce within the Australian Submarine Agency.
You will become part of a geographically dispersed team dedicated to help grow the workforce, skills and capabilities Australia needs to safely and securely operate, shape and maintain its future fleet of nuclear-powered submarines. You will have the ability to work in fulfilling roles that support career growth while providing the flexibility you need to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
