About the opportunity

There is currently one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling.

Join the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) as the Assistant Director Emergency Preparedness. Your leadership will be crucial in shaping policies, procedures, and training programs that enhance our emergency preparedness and response capabilities.

In this pivotal role, you will drive the development and implementation of robust emergency response strategies, ensuring our readiness to tackle large-scale biosecurity emergencies and natural disasters which impact primary industries and animal welfare.

The Assistant Director provides strategic guidance to mitigate the impact of emergencies and drives continuous improvement in emergency response preparedness at the state level. The Assistant Director Emergency Preparedness will be instrumental in achieving these goals by promoting teamwork, collaboration, and strategic partnerships with stakeholders and promoting DPIRD’s values. We are looking for individuals with:

Substantial experience in project management, including policy development

Strategic and innovative thinking to plan effectively and drive continuous improvement

Proven ability to engage, collaborate and network with key stakeholders to drive positive solutions and outcomes
