Our growing Agribusiness located in Somerville on the Mornington Peninsula is seeking an experienced and committed Production Manager to join the Hussey & Co team.

Reporting directly to the Production Operations Manager, you will be a high performing individual with the knowledge and skills to run the day-to-day operations of our production line with the ability to adapt to a constant evolving environment and the skills to contribute to the continual growth of the business.

To be successful for the role, you will have the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment whilst ensuring all production targets are achieved. You will be responsible for driving continuous efficiency improvements and possess the skills to effectively coach and mentor your team.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute production plan

Organise production rosters

Oversee the production team and monitoring factory performance and KPI’s including Safety, Quality DIFOT, Productivity and Cost Control.

Provide direction and leadership to the production team

Desire to lead from the front and drive a culture of continuous improvements

Human resources Management – Train and develop

Analyse the production data and take actions or provide recommendations in order to improve efficiencies

Implementation/Maintenance of standards – Visual Management, Standard Operation Procedures, Work Instructions

Planned maintenance and breakdown maintenance management in collaboration with maintenance team

Effective cross functional communication between production, logistics, maintenance and technical teams.

Ensuring shift supervisors lead their respective shifts appropriately and meet KPI’s

Allocation of factory labour in line with planned work and process schedules

Quality control of raw and finished goods

Data entry of daily production KPI’s

Management of Raw Materials, WIP and Finished Goods

To be successful for this role you will have the following skills/experience:

3+ years’ experience in a Production manager role in FMCG environment

Food Manufacturing experience with short shelf life/daily fresh product

A proven ability to successfully lead and mentor people

Ability to effectively manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously

Flexible and ability to think on your feet

Creative problem solver

The capability to manage escalations

Using structured root cause analysis to resolve issues

The ability to adapt to our constantly evolving environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel

Excellent numerical skills
