The Operational Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for Operational Officers (Wardsperson) to join their team on a casual basis.

Your opportunity

This position will be responsible for providing a 24 hour / 7-day week support service for multi-disciplinary staff and patient care including cleaning, removal of waste, transportation of patients, equipment, linen and materials around the hospital. This position will also be required to work with and provide support and advice to Team Leader, Supervisors and/or Manager of Operational Services.

About the Team

Operational Services provides and co-ordinates a diverse range of services that support the clinical divisions in the delivery of patient centred health care at Mackay Base Hospital. The department consists of the following keys areas:

  • Cleaning Services
  • Porterage Services
  • Waste Management
  • Grounds and Gardens and
  • Patient Equipment Loan Store (PELS).
