SEARMS Community Housing Aboriginal Corporation
Posted 28 days ago
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? A casual opportunity is now available in Canberra, with the potential to transition into a permanent role.
The Organisation
SEARMS is a registered National Regulatory System for Community Housing Providers (NRSCH) Aboriginal Community Housing provider (ACHP). We have served Aboriginal communities in regional NSW since 2003.
Our housing portfolio is diverse and complex. We own and manage 45 properties and oversee an additional 50+ properties on behalf of five Aboriginal organisations, including Local Aboriginal Land Councils. In addition, we manage over 350 properties owned by the NSW Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) through 14 different service agreements.
Achieving Tier 3 accreditation under the NRSCH was a significant milestone that affirmed our commitment to sector best practice. At the time of accreditation, SEARMS was one of only 24 ACHPs nationally and among just 10 in NSW. We have also been recognised by the AHO as a designated ‘growth provider’, having demonstrated the structure and internal capacity to manage additional property portfolios.
In 2020, SEARMS expanded its footprint by opening a Canberra office to complement our head office in Batemans Bay. This reflects our ongoing commitment to increasing our impact and reach.
In 2024, we proudly achieved accreditation under the Australian Service Excellence Standards (ASES)—a testament to our continuous improvement and dedication to quality service delivery.
