About the Opportunity
As an integral member of our busy team, you will be working alongside clients and staff to achieve our key goal of providing high quality service.
We are looking for a skilled SMSF accountant to manage the firm’s growing book of around 110 self-managed superannuation fund’s.
Our ideal candidate will be an energetic professional who has experience in administration, compliance and review of self-managed superannuation funds.
Salary commensurate with knowledge and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake end-to-end SMSF annual compliance and tax activities including fund investments such as properties, shares, cryptocurrency and managed funds.
Preparation and lodgment of SMSF Business Activity Statements
Process SuperStream rollovers and pension commencements on behalf of clients
Coordinate audit and aid in the implementation of audit recommendations
Liaise with clients face to face, over the phone and via email or zoom
Develop and maintain relationships with clients and external third parties
Identify SIS and tax compliance issues ensuring legislative requirements and ATO deadlines are met
Ensure clients are made aware of their compliance obligations
Identify and raise with the directors any issues related to client accounting, business and retirement opportunities
Manage own workflow and budgets
Key Requirements and Experience:
You will have at least 4 years+ experience working in public practice with end-to-end SMSF compliance and tax experience in Australia in a similar role
Experience with BGL is preferred
Knowledge of the SISA/SISR
Have a keen eye for detail and accuracy and be committed to ensuring SIS requirements are met by our clients
Proven strong professional presentation towards clients and colleagues in a similar client-facing role
Proactive and developed problem solving skills, with the initiative to suggest and/or implement solutions.
Strong time management skills.
Be able to work autonomously with minimal direction.
Have a high degree of ownership and accountability for achieving results
Tax Agent License highly valued but not essential
