The Role

Join us and help shape the nuclear powered submarine program via the AUKUS partnership that will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.

We are looking to fill multiple vacancies across multiple teams at the APS 6 level. We are looking for team players who are excited to work on projects that make a last impact and support the nuclear powered submarine program.

These roles are all about making an impact and collaborating with various teams to support the development and training of the nuclear engineering, science and technology workforce.

We have exciting opportunities across several vibrant teams - including the Education, Skilling, Capability and Pathways, STEM Workforce & Capability and the Technical Program Assurance.

Step into an exciting role with key areas of focus including:

  • Managing technical upskilling activities by identifying and facilitating training that contributes to achieving a suitable skilled and experienced sovereign workforce.
  • Delivering programs to build deep, diverse and sustainable Nuclear Engineering Science Technology talent pipelines.
  • Leading projects by making decisions on tasks/assignments with considerable complexity and sensitivity.
  • Building and managing stakeholder relationships, anticipate and respond to stakeholder expectations to achieve a positive working environment, including within the tri-lateral/international space.
  • Co-ordinating contract management including developing tender documentation and managing selection processes.
  • Understanding the work environment and how internal operations support the Australian Submarine Agency, recognising the importance of the contribution towards Australia’s national security interests.

About our Team

The Program Manager roles sit within the primary team responsible for building, developing and sustaining the organisations nuclear engineering, science and technology and technical workforce of the Australian Submarine Agency.

You will become part of a diverse team dedicated to help grow the workforce, skills and capabilities Australia needs to safely and securely operate, shape and uphold its future fleet of nuclear-powered submarines. You will have the ability to work in fulfilling roles that support career growth while providing the flexibility you need to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
