With a significant footprint in the Australian market, they are undergoing a strategic transformation and offer a compelling opportunity for a commercially astute National Product Manager to lead product strategy, lifecycle management, and innovation.
This is a critical leadership role within a reshaping organisation focused on digital integration, portfolio modernisation, and growth through product-led thinking. The role will appeal to a proactive product leader with strong technical insight, commercial flair, and a passion for driving meaningful change.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a national product roadmap aligned to addressable markets and evolving customer needs.
- Lead portfolio strategy for stationary and portable air compressors across both oil-injected and oil-free segments.
- Define and articulate customer value propositions that maximise market relevance and competitive differentiation.
- Use analytics to map market size, segment movement, and competitor pricing and positioning.
- Collaborate with engineering and global teams to influence international Stage Gate development programs.
- Manage the full lifecycle of ~120 SKUs, driving phase-in/phase-out, commercial performance, and rationalisation.
- Establish pricing frameworks and 'guard rails' to protect margin integrity and elevate commercial discipline.
- Support national S&OP forecasting and operations alignment.
- Lead execution of IoT integration, connected asset platforms, and real-time customer analytics.
- Champion air audits and digitised service propositions as a competitive growth lever.
- Deliver commercial training and product positioning strategies to sales and marketing teams.
- Translate technical detail into clear, persuasive messaging and sales tools.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience in rotating equipment or flow systems.
- 7–10 years of experience in product management within the B2B industrial, manufacturing, or capital equipment sectors.
- Proven success in national product strategy, lifecycle management, and new product introduction.
- Ability to influence globally within a matrixed organisation (experience with Japan/US/China stakeholders ideal).
- Skilled at translating engineering concepts into commercially compelling product narratives.
- Experience with compressors, pumps, HVAC, pneumatics, or other rotating/flow-based equipment highly desirable.
