Position Purpose
The Business Development Manager will lead and coordinate the transition and change management process for the co-delivered WSU/NSW Police Force Associate Degree in Applied Policing.
This position works in conjunction with NSW Police Force to provide oversight of the project to manage the implementation of the program.
This position works closely with all relevant Units within the University and with NSW Police Force with oversight of the onsite operational staff to ensure a seamless transition that meets both the requirements of NSW Police Force and policies and practices of the University.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Management: Course Development and Implementation: Undertake analysis, process mapping and gather business requirements to ensure scope, build, testing, timelines and requirements are met.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain professional working relationships with stakeholders within the University and NSW Police Force, deploying skills in stakeholder management
- Operational Support: Management of day-to-day operations, ensuring requirements are met in line with both parties’ policies and practices
- Leadership and Supervision: Monitor individual staff workloads for a small team and distribute workload where appropriate to ensure the optimate use of resources and equity.
- Communication and Reporting: Coordination of outward facing digital communication channels; ensuring that the reporting requirements both regular and ad-hoc are met.

Location
The position is based at the NSW Police Academy in Goulburn, however travel to other campuses of Western Sydney University may be required.
Key Capabilities
- Post-graduate qualifications (project management, business or similar)
- Proficiency in project-planning, process-mapping and data-visualisation
- Stakeholder management and leadership skills with the capacity to engage, influence, negotiate and build productive internal and external working relationships.
- High level negotiation and diplomacy skills with the ability to exercise judgement, and to exercise initiative in conflict resolution
- Demonstrated high-level analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse complex data and reports and make sound recommendations
- Coordination skills to the bring together disparate groups with varying administrative requirements, priorities and processes
University Expectations
Awareness of, and compliance with legislation and University policies and procedures relevant to the duties undertaken.
Remuneration Package: HEW Level 8 $138,029 to $153,227 p.a. (comprising Salary of $116,636 to $129,479 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
Pre-Employment Requirements
The successful applicant will be required to:
- Complete and obtain approval via the NSW Police Force Professional Suitability Application Form, and
- Obtain and maintain a Baseline National Security Clearance, as required by the NSW Police Academy.
These are mandatory conditions to be considered for this role, as required by the NSW Police Force.
