Building Maintenance Trades Assistant

12 Month Fixed term position vacant, both with the view to permanency

Hourly rate of $24 - $28, pending skills/experience

As part of our diverse business, Perisher has a Civil and Building Department responsible for all maintenance and building works within the Resort. We currently have several opportunities available for experienced Trades Assistants to join the Civil and Building team. Subject to performance during the initial contract period, these positions may be extended on a longer-term basis.

As a Trades Assistant, you will be part of a dedicated team with a focus on preventive and breakdown building maintenance of buildings, public areas and facilities including guest and staff accommodation, bars, food outlets and kitchens.

To be successful in this role we are looking for candidates with a diverse range of skills who can and is willing to work across a variety of tasks from basic maintenance duties to assisting with construction activities through to assisting with hotel operations. Ideally the successful applicants will possess experience working in construction. Flexibility, a can-do attitude and the ability to work as part of a small team are attributes required for this role.

Required Experience and Attributes

Experience working in construction or within a similar maintenance type role

Current driver’s licence

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationships with all levels of staff

Capacity to think logically and be able to rationally analyse and solve problems

Ability to work under pressure with limited supervision
