About the role
Join a specialised team committed to delivering high-quality, reliable diagnostic services in the Metabolic Laboratory. In this vital role, you will be responsible for receiving, sorting, and preparing specimens, performing and maintaining assays, and ensuring accurate data entry into laboratory information systems. Your contributions will directly support the provision of biochemical genetics services, playing a key role in timely and accurate diagnostics.
You’ll work closely with the Section Head and broader laboratory team to manage both internal and external enquiries, support day-to-day laboratory operations, and uphold the highest standards of scientific practice. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong technical capabilities, and a passion for contributing to patient-centred healthcare through excellence in laboratory diagnostics.
About You
You are a motivated and technically skilled laboratory professional with a strong eye for detail and a passion for diagnostic science. With a solid background in biochemical laboratory settings, you bring a collaborative spirit, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and service delivery.
Strong technical expertise in diagnostic assays, instrumentation, specimen handling, and troubleshooting within a laboratory environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to follow instructions, support your team, and engage respectfully with clients and staff.
Proficient in Word, Excel, data entry, and laboratory information systems, with sound knowledge of diagnostic terminology and confidentiality requirements.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and reliable, with a strong commitment to customer service, quality standards, and timely task completion.
