About the role
Contribute to the effective and efficient operation of Anatomical Pathology by assisting in the preparation and processing of histological specimens, embedding, sectioning, Fluorescence in situ Hybridisation on paraffin embedded tissue, special staining of tissue and carrying out routine maintenance of equipment.
Will be required to work on a rotational basis throughout the Main Laboratory, Cut-Up Laboratory and the Immunocytochemistry Laboratory.

You are a skilled and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in histology and a commitment to delivering high-quality laboratory work. Whether working independently or within a team, you apply your technical expertise and initiative to consistently meet deadlines and maintain the integrity of laboratory processes. Your excellent organisational and communication skills make you a valued contributor in fast-paced, accuracy-driven environments.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated ability to carry out histological techniques, with experience in tissue processing and sectioning.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Good manual dexterity, organisation, and time management, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
Sound knowledge of histotechnology, including immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridisation, and relevant quality standards such as ISO and NATA requirements.
