The QBuild, Finance team coordinates the provision of effective financial, management and statutory accounting services to QBuild. The position will work as part of the team responsible for the department's financial operations. The position assists and supports the Accounts Payable and Receivable Supervisors, who in turn report to the Senior Team Leader, Financial Operations. The primary purpose of the position is to ensure that accounts payable and accounts receivable functions are delivered in an accurate, efficient and effective client focused manner. This position provides services to QBuild employees, customers and suppliers.
What you will be doing:
The primary purpose of this position is to support the department's financial operations. This position will contribute to the delivery of accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, advice, analysis and support to the department's business units by:
• timely and accurate preparation and data entry of accounts payable and/or accounts receivable transactions (including invoices, receipts, payments, credit notes and journals)
• contributing to a strong control environment by applying a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and practices for financial operations
• communicating effectively with stakeholders (including business unit staff, customers and suppliers) to assist them with their queries and provide advice in relation to the processing of accounts payable and/or accounts receivable transactions, including on the status of outstanding transactions, and taking action to escalate to ensure prompt resolution of disputes
• using data and problem solving skills to assist the Senior Team Leader and Accounts Payable or Receivable Supervisors in analysing and continuously improving department processes
• contributing to effective teamwork by developing an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of other team members and working collaboratively to achieve deadlines and manage competing priorities.

To be successful the ideal candidate will have:
• demonstrated skill in financial operations, including performing accounts payable and or receivable functions to support the business units of a large and complex organisation
• demonstrated ability in using computer software, such as MS Excel, for the purpose of analysing and reporting data
• well-developed analytical, problem solving and reconciliation skills, and the ability to develop effective solutions
• demonstrated ability to communicate, consult and liaise effectively on technical issues, with an emphasis on providing high quality support to a range of stakeholders
• ability to contribute positively to the work of a small team
• demonstrate effective time management skills, including the ability to organise and prioritise work, while displaying attributes of initiative, responsibility and decisiveness to achieve team and individual key performance indicators.
